V18014FS flat snap-on ferrite core is a separable NiZn ferrite ring produced from VN09 material. This model is custom-designed for flat ribbon cables. It delivers a minimum impedance of 20Ω at 25MHz and 55Ω at 100MHz to effectively weaken high-frequency EMI noise. Its thin split structure supports direct clamping onto pre-wired flat cables, with no cable cutting required. This product satisfies RoHS and REACH environmental standards. It provides steady noise attenuation and helps end-use electronic devices fulfill EMC compliance demands.
It fits flat ribbon cables and flat signal wires applied in consumer electronics, smart home units, industrial control panels, surveillance devices and miniature medical instruments. It is ideal for internal wiring of compact electronic hardware with limited installation room.
It is mainly adopted to curb conducted and radiated high-frequency EMI noise transmitted over flat cables, lower signal distortion caused by electromagnetic disturbance, and assist finished equipment in passing EMC certification tests smoothly.
Q1: What difference exists between NiZn and MnZn ferrite cores?
A: NiZn ferrite cores excel at suppressing high-frequency EMI noise, which is ideal for cable noise filtering. MnZn ferrite cores perform better under low and medium frequency conditions and are commonly used for power conversion applications.
Q2: Is there any temperature limit when using snap-on ferrite cores?
A: Yes. Please operate the ferrite core within the material’s rated temperature range. Excessively high temperature will reduce permeability and weaken the EMI noise suppression capacity.
Q3: Can one ferrite core handle both power cables and signal cables?
A: It can work for both in general cases. However, you need to confirm the working frequency and cable size. For heavy power lines, you should pick ferrite cores with proper current resistance and size.
Q4: Does the ferrite core affect the normal signal transmission of the cable?
A: When the core is properly selected and installed, it barely interferes with normal signal transmission. It only blocks unwanted high-frequency noise without distorting valid low-frequency or baseband signals.
Q5: How should I store unused ferrite cores? A: Keep ferrite cores in dry indoor environments. Avoid heavy impact or dropping. Physical cracks on ferrite will destroy its magnetic characteristics and reduce noise filtering performance.
